Well here I go... Starting to compile my first Blog….what shall I write about….hmmm.......... not quite able get something concrete to think about…..Yes… this is the main reason why I haven’t started writing any Blog so far…i.e., not able to figure out a topic on which I could Blog on… (Don’t worry… don’t intend to write Blog about why I haven’t written a Blog and all that)….
So why all this fuss about getting a Blog for you…well I intend to write something on this…i.e. on the very idea of Blog and Blogging itself…
Thinking about this, I wonder whether Blog is simply an evolution of Internet (WWW) communication or another surprise hit….Well not able to quite convince myself on a side. Essentially Blog is a free format text (simply a free format… any moron can write about anything... for example…me writing a Blog about Blog & Blogging…) and is available for free. Moreover it is fast becoming the biggest information repository ….off course Worthiness or Accuracy are not really taken into account, when i say this….
Some of my thoughts on why bogging has become such a hit…
Well… the foremost reason could be that, it’s FREE…. If I have a PC and Internet connectivity (has become quite an essentiality in everyone’s life), I can Blog…
Also, it enjoys the advantages of asynchronous communication… Well one can post a Blog today and need not worry about its availability to the audience at that very moment… and the comments or reflections are going to stay there too…
Next I would say that, people have out grown their audience (at least the number) or they consider themselves to be….so what do I mean here… well people want more people to have their ideas or thoughts to know apart from their family, friends and colleagues… they are now looking for global audience(??!!)…chances are that someone would hail your idea/thought or agree upon, if the number of audiences is more….probabilty!!!
Other idea is that, people have so far longed to put their ideas forth… or have been quite desperate for audience…. This very alarming… for this reflects very poorly on how the Human society and psychology have been evolving….A person Blogging often COULD mean he has been craving for an audience or simply is not able to get along with people….. More the number of people like this, more dangerous it is, since very fabric of Human society is based on human interaction….
Well…one can get to show off their Writing prowess or their command over the language….One need not be very spontaneous, can take your time, explore, acquire and they go on about writing some Blah... Blah… Typically, a means to impress or even can go to length of showing off your depth of knowledge on a subject…
Last however not the least... My Point of View or What I perceive from an event or thing….and what are the reflections of that, in me, is what is Important to Me…. And that is what I get /care to write about…. There is no stopping me!!!… No one gets to say what one can write (off course there are limits for everything and sensitive issues are exceptions) or to stop the crap one can scribble around in the Blog… truly can’t imagine one franchise or publisher who would have been willing to publish or portray the thoughts of so many people earlier… that’s exactly, what is happening through Blog…. Zillions of Blog are getting created or people commenting about it…It is truly a global phenomenon…
Some reflections on the trend of Blogging today…
You can get a numerous Blog on any given topic and is exploding exponentially…. Well that has a downside as well… organizing and validating these becomes very cumbersome and can even say that it comes very close to impossible…. You get quite too many information and at most of the times you will not be in a position to distinguish between the 'correct' and the 'incorrect' (at that point of time)….Some exceptional Blogs can be quite in a wrong place or out of reach of people….The Golden Phrase in the Libraries “Book misplaced is a Book Lost” suits exceptionally well here in my opinion…
Some times one may get perplexed at the way very personal information are flying about in blog, for the perusal of someone who can put these information to good use… well in our country, where Identity theft is not up to the industry standard (what… do we even have industry standards for this…oh God) it is not so surprising… its better to be careful rather being sorry later and caution (vigilance may be) does no harm I guess…
With coming of Blog, writing has become equally popular hobby like Reading…. The very Mantra of Internet “sharing” is very much realized through Blogs… While reading helps you acquire, Blogging enables sharing…
On a different note… one can very well use Blog, just to have a record (i.e. don’t share it with anyone, just use is it as medium to rain down your thoughts), or share with only selected people or simply throw it for everyone in the world… this makes Blog truly global, since people depending on their character and personality (oh… is character and personality two different things…?) can use it as they want…..
Ya…well you might found yourself run down by so many thoughts of mine and most of them might not have made any sense… even more, you might have found that the information is not quite in order or follows some sequence or incomplete at places… and importantly most of the time, I would have rather been very presumptuous.. Whatever ;) … That’s Blog for you…
